Table Setting - Julia B. - Interior Design 2016

Clearly, I have a love for beautiful interiors and design but ask anyone who knows me - I always notice the details! In my world, the final layering pieces are just as important as the grand design concepts. I have an affinity for good quality linens and vintage inspired tableware. I'm not hosting Easter this year but I will have the absolute pleasure of enjoying dinner at my parent's home. My mother has a talent and eye for making everything look perfect and she is a wonderful cook!

Lucky for us, this month's issue of Veranda featured the lovely family estate of Julia B. Julia's linen collections and monogram designs are stunning. I use her line whenever I have the opportunity. A bedroom and dining room just don't feel complete without fine linens and beautiful dishes/china/glassware and silver. Julia's latest venture includes a gorgeous tabletop collection that incorporates dinnerware, glassware, table linens and silver. The patterns are inspired by her travels to Italy. Julia recently displayed her designs at an al fresco luncheon on her Northern California property. The entire shoot is perfection and a delightful inspiration for anyone planning to entertain with guests soon.....perhaps, even this weekend! Cheers! xx

I adore this idea!

Love the look - Interior Design 2016

I always consider Easter the start of Spring but around here in early April there is not a bud in bloom! I dream of wearing a pretty, short sleeved outfit, but in reality, I usually have to wear my wool coat on Easter Sunday. In fact, we freeze our asses off watching the kids run around like lunatics gathering the hidden eggs.  All kidding aside, I've put together two similar Easter day looks, one with a shell for you lucky southerners and one with a cardigan and possibly a coat for us up North/West. Blair nailed the look above! My pink wool coat will be my layer of choice too. xx

The Potting shed - Interior Design 2016

We ALL have Spring on our mind up North, even my children have had it with the cold and grey weather. My yard took a beating this winter, so I am starting to map out what needs to be revamped, ripped out and planted. My goal is to plant a cutting garden this Spring. I dream of having potting shed/room much like one of the beauties someday!

I loved the Beatrix Potter books as a child. My aunt gave us the figurines as gifts. Here are the bunnies in a potting shed.

UMMMM, I would change out those awful compact fluorescent bulbs.

Shelter Loves.. - Interior Design 2016

Hello honies and happy Friday. I always seem to have a bit more energy on Friday, even bad days are a bit sweeter. I was fully back in the swing of things work wise this Wednesday, here's what is on my radar.

1. Everything Easter related. Easter seems to symbolize rebirth and all things Spring related. I always host an egg decorating day for my children's friends. They have a blast and we end up with an array of beautiful eggs. Here is a sophisticated Easter table. Are you hosting?
2. AMEN and very true.
3. I love beautiful dresses with gorgeous back details.
4.  Schumacher's strie velvets.
5. Stripe details on pants and bags. Gucci takes the cake on this trend! These are cute too
6. The site of Palm trees, especially during the winter months, warm my soul.

Design details by Amber Interiors - Interior Design 2016

I'm BACK! I had every intention of sneaking in a blog post but I didn't have much time. Who knew going to Disney was so exhausting?? - haha. We had a great time, now I need to catch up on work, life and well unpacking and organizing all of our things!! I'm also catching up on a bit of reading and came across this clean, gorgeous project by Amber Interiors. There are so many interesting interior design details in this house, I just had to share. Building a home from scratch would be my dream, I would most likely design a fairly classic home with modern details. Where I could, I would incorporate large windows and views of the outdoors like this one did. The color palette and natural textiles used are STUNNING. ENJOY!

This kitchen storage cabinet is fabulous too!

I adore this bunk room.

- Interior Design 2016

As I type away, I am distracted by the howling wind and large clumps of snow pelting my windows. I am dreaming of far away places and beautiful spaces today and hope to sneak this post in before we potentially lose power and Internet service. My Florida escape can't arrive soon enough, I can only hope our flight does not get canceled tomorrow!! I came across the gorgeous Napa vacation home of Alexa and Trevor Traina's in February's issue of Vogue. It is a one hundred year old retreat filled romantic moments and nostalgic goodies. The Trainas collaborated with Ken Fulk on the project. The grounds are equally as lovely. If you're in the midst of this blizzard too, I hope you stay safe and warm!
My plan is to check in from Florida with a post or two, we'll see what the week brings. xx
