AWESOME trip to high point this week and fantastic design star sightings….
first up……
 BARCLAY BUTERA…..WHAT  a SWEETHEART!!! he seriously could not have been nicer to his #1 high point stalker….true gentleman and i LOVE HIM!!!! his showroom was GORGEOUS!

DILLWYN ROAD PROGRESSION!!

i spent this morning in richmond with my awesome client whose house i ADORE! the funny thing is i used to play in this house when i was little and grew up a block away-so fun coming back to it!!
we are working on adding more awesome furnishings to replace other older pieces….but in the mean time, i could not resist filling you in on what is happening so far!

starting with the foyer…..we had this console custom made to provide lots of style and surface area…the roman shade is out of one of my favorite schumacher wovens….and the front door that my client had made by the masters at siewers lumber in richmond, va!

family room…..we used the existing upholstery and added splashes of color…next on the list? new coffee table and tv cabinet!

master bedroom…..new chest, lamp, and vanity table soon to come!

the exterior…

stay tuned….my super stylish client is refacing the exterior with siding….i cannot wait to see the outcome-she has absolutely amazing taste….stay tuned for the results!

SUMMER HOUSE, BRING IT!

this 40 something degree weather is really starting to GET TO ME!!!! ……i just want to jump right into this make believe house and with 80 degrees outside!!!

THIS HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR NEEDED HIS ROOM PULLED TOGETHER. HE HAD THE BASICS: A BED, RUG, AND WINDOW TREATMENTS. BUT HIS MOM WANTED A MORE SOPHISTICATED LOOK FOR HER COLLEGE BOUND SON TO COME HOME TO….GOODBYE TEENAGER ROOM, HELLO YOUNG ADULT!

MY CLIENT ALREADY HAD THE BEDSIDE TABLE ON THE LEFT. SO WE ORDERED THE NEW TABLE ON THE RIGHT AND PAINTED THE OLD TABLE THE SAME COLOR.

HOW AWESOME IS THIS STUFFED TURKEY?? AND HIS COLORS ARE PERFECT!!! GOTTA LOVE A CLIENT WITH AN EXTENSIVE "STUFFED ANIMAL" COLLECTION!

THE PAIR OF BROWN BAMBOO LAMPS HELP TIE IN THE DARK WOOD OF THE DRESSER.

MUIRFIELD ATTIC REDO: BENCH SEAT

WHO DOESNT HAVE AWKWARD DUCT WORK AND PIPES RUNNING THROUGH THEIR ATTIC? HOW CAN YOU GET RID OF IT?

 HIDE IT!!

IN THIS CASE, MY CLEVER CLIENT HAD HER HANDYMAN BUILD THIS BEAUTIFUL BENCH SEAT THAT STRETCHED ACROSS THE ENTIRE SIDE WALL. "FAUX DRAWERS" CREATE THE ILLUSION THAT THESE DRAWERS ARE FUNCTIONAL.

THE STAIN REPELLENT BROWN FABRIC NOT ONLY SHOWS A NICE CONTRAST ON THE BENCH,  BUT IT'S ALSO SUITABLE FOR HIGH KID TRAFFIC. THE WHITE CONTRAST WELT TIES IT TOGETHER. AND OUR TOMATO RED PILLOWS KEEP IT FUN!

BATTERIES RECHARGED...THANK YOU SPRING BREAK!!

its always nice going on a tropical spring break only to hear that it snowed 4 inches while you were gone!

we had a blast on a disney cruise….yes, i'm a little over mickey mouse….but was highly entertained by the disney fanatics on the ship-OMG!

and our boys loved it!!! we swam with stingrays in the caymans,  and snorkeled with baraccudas in cozumel!

will i cruise again? of course!!!! we LOVE cruises! but we will take disney out of the equation…..less kids and a smaller ship = ideal!

however, the ship was awesome….saw some beautiful lee jofa groundworks fabrics in the spa and adult restaurants! 

 and here's our new miniature golden doodle that we got to come home too. "buddy" is awesome!
