The Eclectic Stockholm home of....... Daphne and Rolf - Interior Design 2016

I found this stunning home on Hem & Antik, a Swedish website. It belongs to couple Daphne and Rolf and is located in Stolkholm . I was going to include the text which i translated on Google but I am not sure that the Copywriters would be too happy with that... it is worth a read though if you have the time.

The home is decorated head to foot in textiles and ornaments from the couples extensive travels across the globe. Although the whole apartment is beautiful, my favorite room is by far the master bedroom. It has been decorated with wall hangings from Uzbekistan, and has a fabulous chunky wooden framed Day bed from Java. I also adore the rich velvet table cloth to the left of the bed.

Bedroom:
The bed is a daybed from Java and the walls are covered in wall hangings from Uzbekistan,

Even the guest room is unique. Above the bed is a canopy made from mosquito nets from Goa, says Daphne

-The couch is a little different, because it has no back support. But we have added a ton of pillows

Shelter Loves - Interior Design 2016

Last week was school vacation for my kiddos. In all honesty the past three weeks have been a blur but I did take the time to head to Vermont late Thursday-Sunday. It is amazing how much children appreciate your undivided attention. I put down the phone and lap top and we went hiking, played soccer and snuggled up to a movie together. Those moments do wonders for their attitude and mine. We had a wonderful time and today they are back at school! I am feeling uber focused on work!  (hence this week's quote).  Here's to a productive week all around!! This is Friday's edition of Shelter Loves. I have zero wi-fi in VT.

1. I am pretty into my skin! I wash my face every night and am always trying new skin and body lotions. I figure I'll do anything to avoid more sun cancer surgery, wrinkles and dry skin. I will be using this Beauty Counter sugar body scrub to get my skin bathing suit and beach ready.

2. I am a dreamer by nature...Since my house is almost done (they are putting up hardy board in the bathroom as I type) I am envisioning my next steps. A second floor or pool perhaps?? This smaller pool and pool house would work just perfectly in my yard! I even had a new fence installed last week!

3. I have been tying scarfs in my daughter's hair lately. I'll be doing the same for myself all summer. I love this look! You'll be seeing more scarves all summer long!

4. This week's motto!! "Get it, girl".

5.  I was very saddened to hear of Prince's passing last Thursday. I have always LOVED music and grew up listening to much of his. I'd be lying if I said I did not know every word to every song on Purple Rain. RIP Prince.

6. Two words: This bag. (It converts to a backpack or shoulder bag too)

7. I came across Twine and Twigs nature inspired, handmade jewelry a few weeks ago. I scooped up a trio of bracelets right away. I love them and plan to order one of these fabulous necklaces soon. Read more about this company and see their great pieces here.

Ever since I brought my Peacock chair, it has been under threat as my partner absolutely hates it! It is true that they are uncomfortable and they do take up a lot of room, but they are just so darn pretty aren't they?

If a Peacock chair is good enough for Audrey Hepburn it is good enough for me....

I came across these little Totem guys and gals by ceramic artist Heidi Anderson on The Radder's Instagram feed and just had to share. I particularly (and predicatbly) love the totems with the Moon above their heads....and they sit firmly at the top of my wish list...

" I make ceramic agateware pottery vases, planters, and sculptures that are inspired by the pottery and art of the southwest, as well as folk art of different cultures around the world. My approach is informed by my back ground in painting in the way I create designs with a method called agateware, in which different clays are combined and shaped into patterns and designs that are inlayed into the clay.
My art is informed by my appreciation of forms found in nature, geometric shapes, and the hand hewn in methods of craft. I am inspired by the many possibilities that working with clay offers and the endless ways it guides my imagination."

Okay so the top three pictures are pretty much identical, but they are all variations of my absolute dream greenhouse, garden dining room. They all smell of that earthy combination of Tomato plant and geranium and have just enough shade to keep you cool but let enough sunlight in the room so that you can still lean back in your chair after your lunch and feel the orange sun on your closed eyes..... bliss!!
