Shelter Loves... - Interior Design 2016

So I'm trying to ignore the fact that it is snowing out today, because all I really want to wear is sandals and cute tops like the one pictured above!!! My client's have been focused on redoing kitchens and bathrooms lately, which I guess is a good thing. There are so many amazing details to consider. Have a perfect weekend!! xoxo

1. I swear by Beautycounter eye cream. It has a little boost of caffeine in it, I think that really helps with puffiness.
2. This entire outfit. That is all!!
3. I love the organic pottery light fixtures designed and made by Heather Levine. I hope I get to have one installed someday!
4. I'm using this Ann Sacks tile on a bathroom project, it's pretty fabulous!
5. Indeed!
6. I adore sandal season, these Rag and Bone beauties adorable.
7. I'm all about making fresh, extra crispy Caesar salads lately. This dressing is pretty good and does not have mayo, I added a little Worcester sauce for an extra kick.

Color Crush - March, Pale Sky - Interior Design 2016

I have nothing but Spring on my mind lately. It's funny how with each month and season I am drawn to a different shade, each reflect my current state of mind. Lately, I've been cataloging beautiful shades of pale blue; that moody, calming hue somewhere between blue and grey. I also have an inkling you'll be seeing it used more on cabinetry and in kitchens this year! I painted my son's room this color and it's growing with him and the stylistic changes we've made in the space!

Cali cool... - Interior Design 2016

I go to bed early during the week, borderline "granny" (no insult to grandmothers, my Mom actually stays up quite late) early. I learned when I had my kids to catch some rest when you can. On the flip side, I am up right after the birds and if go to bed by 9:30, I feel refreshed. I take this time to scroll through my creative accounts. Insta and Pinterest are always on standby. This is also the time, I gather a sh*t load of inspiration for my work.  My house is calm and quiet and I've grown to count on these peaceful moments.

I've always been intrigued by and drawn to creative types and if LA were closer, I'd most likely move there. My style of dress and interior design ideas (and personality for that matter) tend to marry the East coast with the West coast. A little bit buttoned up with an overall laid back vibe. A colorful preppy, monogrammed bag with frayed jeans, navy trimmed drapes paired with limed wood floors, you get the picture. Anyway, this a.m. I was on J
enni Kayne's blog and stumbled on Lela Becker's laid back home in L.A. These images and this environment gives you a sense of how it would feel to actually live there. It's much like her brand MOTHER, a 70's vibe with modern touches..Being a child of the 70's and 80's myself, I can relate. It feels like a tree house floating above the city, the lofted ceiling and windows make you feel like you are outdoors when you are in. See Lela's interview here. Sharing a little canyon coolness below...

Chloe... - Interior Design 2016

I'm sure I've shared my love for this Fashion house before (swoon). Chloe's bags, clothing and shoes are an absolute favorite. Whether you can scoop up the "it" purse of the season or are simply inspired by the looks (mostly that for me) we can only hope whomever takes over for Clare, is fabulous! I love scrolling through street style during fashion week, especially when it's shot by Phil Oh in Paris. A number of the looks were of style icons/editors wearing Chloe looks.

Clare Waight Keller, at home in Paris, recently stepped down from her position as creative director for Chloe.

Earthship: Shambala Permaculture.... - Interior Design 2016

Any one who follows my ramblings on instagram will know that I have had a spot of really bad luck with my health over the last year, I am finally healing well and I honestly believe it is down to an increased focus on my mediation practice, a new found passion for sound baths and Kirtan, and a rekindled interest in herbalism.

On my search for courses and retreats and a lot of inspiration, I have come across many beautiful places to stay to immerse my senses and have found a few gems I wish to share with you.... the first being this beautiful place.... Shambala Permaculture in San Marcos Sierras, Cordoba, Argentina.

I have always had a thing for cob homes and earthships, with the colourful bottle windows and swirly patterns on the walls they have an etherial quality that I adore, and Shambala appears to be one of those places where I really don't think you could be unhappy or ill. Shambala is run by Nathan and Andrea here we learn about their home and workshop in their own words....

"Shamballa is our experiment in life and living.   It is our home and workshop, our place to practice and express our ideas, philosophies, designs and dreams.     We are holistically combining our life’s knowledge and life experiences, to reflect our vision that the ultimate work of art is us and our connection to each other and our mother earth or environment.

The places we live in, the people that we connect with, what we consume and the things we produce, the seeds that we plant, the decision making process that we make decisions by, are all guided by the vision that our lives and what we do with them, is how we affect and change our world.  Redesigning ourselves, our societies and cultures as an integral part of our garden planet, not masters over it.   This visionary idea will grow and grain strength.  It is being manifested by people all over the earth.  We are not alone.
It is up to us to create and recreate the world, in fact it is our birthright and responsibility.
We see ourselves as stewards of the land, and the designers, creators and curators of the projects on it.   We take what we do seriously.  From working to parting, everything is tied to our vision for life, culture and community.
The Shamballa project grew out of the shared dreams and visions of Andrea and Nathan.   Our experiment continues to evolve and grow.  As we grow and learn, so does our project and the people inspired by it.  Shamballa is an experiment in how we interact and exist in our natural environment, how we can have a positive environmental impact as a result of our lives, societies and celebrations.   We are guided by our experiences with transformational festival culture, permaculture, and deep ecology.   It is from these movements and ideas the shamballa was born.
Permaculture design, ethics and principles, have helped lead the way in our homestead.  Natural living, sustainability, resilience, traveling, backpacking, local economies, grassroots movements, raw food, natural building, art, organic gardening, shamanism, transformational festival culture, events like Burning Man and Boom have been some of the inspirations of our experiment."
If you are interested in studying at Shambala, you can find them via their website , Facebook and Instagram
