Setting the table - Thanksgiving - Interior Design 2016

As I may have mentioned, I am hosting Thanksgiving this year! I'm excited about this because I really enjoy cooking, entertaining and decorating for the holiday season. I spent some time this morning planning and pulling together my table setting ideas. I'm a firm believer in layering tablescapes. Above is a peek at the beginning of my design. I always use freshly cut flowers and lots of candles.

I have always ADORED velvet fabrics. Lucky for me, so do most of my clients!! With all the velvet fashion out there, I am having trouble deciding just what to purchase for the holiday season! I'm leaning towards green!

Dental Chic - Interior Design 2016

I've been loving soft feminine color palettes mixed with rich grey lately. Summer Thornton never disappoints with her unpredictable color palettes and talent for beautifully combining furniture, objects and finishes. Here is a dental office she designed. I suppose if you need a crown you may as well feel like a queen while getting it. What I love most is every element would translate well in a home. Shelter Loves - Interior Design 2016

While my kids were getting ready for school this a.m. I taught them the beauty of the word "Friyay".
Although I have my own business and feel blessed to love my job, I am always happier to see a Friday am than a Monday one! I had a great work week, I'm designing some pretty cool projects right now. I've been doing lots of brainstorming and creative thinking. Here's what made the love list this week! Cheers. xo

1. Ann Taylor has the prettiest little shoe collection. These kitten heeled cuties are perfect for work and casual holiday parties. 
2. Sezane has opened a NY store! How sweet are the feminine design details?
3. Words to live by.
4. + 5.  I've been really into learning more about women artists who lived and honed their skills during the mid-late 20th century. Helen Frakenthaler was one that I have been reading up one. I may use one of her prints as the starting point for a fresh design in my daughter's room. 
6. I am looking forward to hosting Thanksgiving this year. I'll be sharing my table scheme ideas next week!
7.  I love everything about this photo.  I adore braids, this one is perfection. 
8. I've got the feels for Marc Jacob's snapshot bags. There are so many to choose from.

Inspired by ..... Crystal Palace series by Kristina Sosarko - Interior Design 2016

Inspired by......

I found the above image a while ago on Pinterest and instantly fell in love with not only its simplicity but also the mixture of woods and that stunning painting/print on the wall.

I have been looking for similar artwork ever since and recently stumbled upon the below print 'Crystal Palace no 1' from Inalux. 

"Part of a collection spanning the last four years of black paintings, the Crystal Palace designs are created by Kristina Sostarko. Each design in the series was painted in gouache or ink, and now available as a fine art archival print. While the prints appear black and white, the base is a soft shade of creamy peach."
