A few months ago I got to spend a whole weekend to myself whilst my son and his father went to the seaside for a few days. Not only did I get some time to relax alone (as a parent of a 3 year old this is a very rare luxury) I was also lucky enough to get a last minute cancellation spot on a stained glass mirror making workshop at Bristols Famous Folk House. You can see my little creation below.

The course was unbelievably wonderful. I had forgotten how much I loved being immersed in creative activities and quickly signed up to a stained glass window making one for this coming February.

Looking for inspiration I have come across a few wonderful artists making pieces that I would be supremely proud of, one of them is Colin Adrian, a US based artist. Although he also does a lot of beautiful colourful work I just love the above two calmer pieces.

New Year's Eve style - Interior Design 2016

What are you doing New Years, New Year's Eve? (Sorry, I couldn't help it) I don't have any major plans this year and I am OK with that. I don't want to leave the house let alone dress up in this zero degree weather. Let's pretend for a moment that I am going to some swanky party. Here is a look I love. Over the years that I have been blogging my tastes have changed from cluttered and cozy to light and almost sparse. I have cleaned out a lot of my clutter (although I still have a lot hidden in the loft) and tend to make choices that incorporate natural textiles and forms.  I have a tiny little 1960's house but one thing I love about it are the huge windows throughout giving it a sense of openness.... they are also great for a house plant obsessive like myself..... the one thing I can not go minimal on.

The day after - Interior Design 2016

I don't know about you but I'm feeling pretty fried today. My house is a post Christmas disaster. I do however have a bit of energy left to visit all the amazing sales online today! Mind you, I am posting this from the comfort of my cozy bed. My daughter and I are hanging and maybe I will get the energy to clean around 12. Merry, Merry - Interior Design 2016

Wishing you a wonderful holiday and a Merry Christmas from our home to yours! It just started snowing here, so we are having a white Christmas after all. Shelter Loves - Interior Design 2016

My first question is, where did December go? I haven't had much time to relax and enjoy the Christmas season..I am looking forward to some down time with my friends and family this weekend.
I've pretty much had wrapping up projects and children's gifts on my brain this week but here is what I did happen to catch!

1. Meghan and Harry are adorable. I am looking forward to seeing every wedding detail.
2. Meghan had The Percy tortoise glasses on in a recent photo, now they are on backorder for months. I may need these! I adore Meghan's simple, classic but updated style. 
3. I love authentic Mexican. I make tacos A LOT around here but need to up my game. This is on my late holiday wish list.

Nate Berkus style - Interior Design 2016

I'll be running off in a few to style for a photoshoot, on a beautiful project that I have been working on. I CANNOT wait to share it with you all - but not until I post the gorgeous new home of Nate Berkus, Nate's husband Brent and their adorable daughter, Poppy! It's a glorious 1928 Spanish Colonial style located in L.A. It is, of course, perfectly appointed with a mix of vintage and new furniture. Read and see more of Nate's home here. Although bonkers, I LOVE the week leading up to Christmas. I'm going to try to make it as magical for my children as possible.
