Roses Farm: A dreamy British renovation - Interior Design 2016

This beautiful cottage Roses Farm, is similar in style to my parents old cottage in Wales, and seeing these photos really makes me miss the old family home. I love this style of cottage with the exposed beams, inglenook fireplaces and flagstone flooring, there is something so cosy and inviting about them..... and not a sterile surface in sight :)

Snuggling up in front of a blazing fire, or sitting around the table in the dining room waiting for the aga to finish (slowly) cooking dinner. with a cuppa or glass of wine in hand..... bliss!

Style Files - Amanda Ross - Interior Design 2016

One of the great joys of my career is to help people transform their homes into beautiful spaces that reflect their lifestyles and tastes. I also love to get a glimpse into the way people live in their personal spaces. I can most often relate to the homes occupied by women who live alone or with their small children. Shelter Loves - Interior Design 2016

Here I am, on a Friday night, finally with a free moment. I eked out a little time and energy to finish off a blog post. It has been a good week work but a draining personal one. I know we're supposed to cruise through life with a smile on our face, pretending that all is grand. I'm going to be frank, my week sucked. I do however find when I focus on the positive aspects, I feel better. I am not big on pity parties, especially after tuning into the News. On a career note, I an nearing completion of two beautiful projects and I am very much looking forward to having them photographed after the holiday season. Here is what is on my mind this week. Have a peaceful weekend. xx

1. I was in Nashville last weekend for a quick trip. I spent one night at the Holston and another at The Kimpton. If I go again with friends, I would like to check out Noelle. It's a chic boutique hotel. 
2. I enjoy staying in as much as I do going out - at the end of a long week, All I wish for is peaceful night in my cozy bed. It's where I do some of my best thinking and brainstorming. 
3. This turtle neck sweater is flattering, comfortable and comes in an array of beautiful colors. 
4. This is the TRUTH. Self love acceptance and security ultimately bring happiness. I am absolutely teaching my children self reliance and love. #lifelessons
5. Watching destruction from the wild fires in California is heartbreaking. I cannot even fathom what they are going through. California desperately needs our help. No donation is too small. 

- The American Red Cross - is providing Shelter, food and clothing to those forced from their homes. 
- Humane Society - HSVC, is working to rescue all the displaced animals

Love the look - travel essentials - Interior Design 2016

I took a quick trip to Nashville this weekend. It's a fun city and the locals were some of the friendliest people I have ever met. My friend and I also explored the city off of the main strip and saw some cool areas. I love to travel and hope to plan some more get aways with close friends this Winter and Spring. Here's a peek at my carry on travel staples. **My thoughts and heart** are with everyone in California. The images and destruction are heartbreaking. 

1. A cozy scarf. Planes are either too hot or too cold. I always dress in layers.
2. Hand cream to combat dry skin.
3. Lip balm. (I guess I could be addicted to worse things)
4. A phone charger with a long cord.
5. A great read.
6. A carry on tote.
7. Comfy, easy to remove shoes.

November Design Crush - caned furniture - Interior Design 2016

I love the look and texture of caned furniture - looking back, I wish I had grabbed a couple more of my grandmother's caned chairs. She was a creative type and tried her hand in this ancient technique. Caning dates back to the Egyptians and was later used in England, Holland and France. Caned furniture is light, durable and easy to clean. Take a peek at a few modern day examples. I especially like it mixed with black paint and dark limed wood.
