Shelter - Style Edit - Sweaters - Interior Design 2016

I think it's safe to say we're all dressing a bit more casually these days. I still pull together cohesive outfits for design meetings but am finding that comfort is key, even outside of the home. I love the art of dressing in the Fall. Layered looks are both warm and textural.

Today, I'm sharing two options with soft sweaters. One is with a cardigan and gorgeous silk blouse, the second features a crewneck paired with a crisp cotton top. Complete the look with your favorite jeans/black pants, accessories and a camel coat. I'll be sharing my gift guides beginning this Wednesday! Eek.

Shelter Loves - Interior Design 2016

I'm going to flip blog post days..... I'll be back with my style post tomorrow. Apologies for the sporadic appearances on here. I've been working, while juggling a full service restaurant and school house over here. Sadly, the blog comes last. I am, however, working on a number of exciting projects with some really nice clients. I am also having my website revamped! Cheers to you and yours, I hope you and your loved ones are staying healthy. Read on about my current distractions......xx

1. Jenna Lyons' chic bathroom still speaks to me. I'd love to wake up to this space every morning. There is something to be said for creating a comfortable, functional, cohesive home, especially with the amount of time we are spending sheltering in place. I have some serious nesting going on around my home right now. Do you?

2. I love neutral colors but do incorporate a jolt of bright hues into my wardrobe. Pink is a favorite. This pretty parka is on sale! I ordered it today for 45% off!!

3. I'm often inspired by fashion icons from the 60's and 70's. I adore Francoise Hardy's style and music.

4. I'm drawn to geometric tile and textile patterns lately.

5. This can be difficult but the alternative is a real downer. I allow myself to feel like shit for a day but then move on to positive thoughts. I even write them down and repeat them to myself every a.m., if needed.

Ashley Stark Kenner at home - Interior Design 2016

It's VERY refreshing to see a chic home that isn't embracing the modern farm house style. Ashley shares her newly renovated NYC town house with her husband and three children. It's filled with unique art, gorgeous carpets, textiles (of course) and a perfectly blended array of vintage and custom designed furniture. Images via AD

Dakota Johnson - at home - Interior Design 2016

Do you ever dream of living in a sexy mid-century modern designed ranch with expansive windows overlooking an ever changing landscape? I certainly do... I would fill my home with an array of art, unique vintage furniture and custom designed pieces. Dakota Johnson's home is just this and so much more. Created by Carl Maston and located just outside the bustle of L.A....Designers' Pierce and Ward helped pull together this cozy, dreamy refuge.  Images via AD

Shelter Loves - Interior Design 2016

I hope you had a chance to enjoy the lovely weather over this extra long weekend. Here is what I am currently contemplating. Cheers to a wonderful week. Make sure to peek back tomorrow for an insanely chic mid-century modern inspired home. xx

1. I'm planning to order one of Patti Smith's books this week. Her quotes and excerpts are also pretty inspiring. This too, is my outlook.

2. Fall fashion, especially inspired by Parian fashion heroes like Jeanne Damas.

3. I need to refresh my walk way. I ordered pea stones and I am going to add a bluestone path.

4. Someday I'll design a house and have an interesting closet like this....

5. Pretty lamps make the room. Serena and Lily is having a lighting sale.

6. * Not pictured above....I was burnt out on preparing meals after the lockdown. I've been slowly getting back into cooking but desperately needed some fresh but easy meal ideas. I made three cheese zucchini ravioli last week. They were AMAZING.

There are some beautiful colors and trends around this Fall. Yes, life feels like it's a bit on hold but I'm not giving up on the power of style and the feeling I have when I slip on something brand new and head out for the day...Leather, warm shades of camel, nutmeg and tan worn together, statement earrings, soft detailed sweaters and statement collars are some of the trends you'll see this Fall..Today, I've rounded up some favorite looks!

Love the look - Interior Design 2016

Have you stepped up your workout routine during Covid? I mean, we have to do something to offset the weekday wine consumption. There are so many adorable casual fitness companies and clothing popping up. Here's a round up of some of my favorites.

How do you stay fit? I'm going to have to rejoin the gym at some point but for now, I run, walk, do spin class, a little yoga and planks at home! I've been jogging to Samm Henshaw's song - CHURCH
