love the look - style edit - the t-shirt - Interior Design 2016

It goes without saying that we're all about staples lately.... An exciting night in, consists of rearranging my closet and ditching items that I no longer wear or need in my life. Today, I'm sharing a round up of my favorite t-shirts, they are great for layering, on their own and most importantly, flattering and comfortable. Happy Friday. xx

Shelter Loves...... - Interior Design 2016

While sipping wine and listening to 70's inspired music, I've thoroughly enjoyed pulling my top pins together this week to share with you all.  I have busy creating and working on an array of very cool projects. I truly feel blessed, my career has always served as an escape from the mundane or stressful, raw moments in my life. My children are young but I communicate the importance of following their dreams regularly. Here are some of what's on my radar this week.

Enjoy your Valentine's Day weekend. I am enjoying this time in my life... I believe in magic, love, dreams and the excitement of not knowing what is around the corner......I'll be celebrating by squeezing my children extra tight and appreciating the love that I am blessed to have in my life.  xx

1. Music, reading and relaxing in unconventional spaces feeds my soul. I'm in the midst of creating a space in my home to encompass all three, you better believe it will have a turn table, speakers and a spot to store vinyl records. Athena's media room is perfection......

2. Mother Jeans, my favorite at the moment.

3. Table settings,,,I pin them like crazy and am brainstorming for an upcoming photoshoot. This is by Cece, this Park Avenue apartment is stunning.

4. Moody, chill music inspired by 70's disco. I create a monthly playlist sharing some of my favorites for one reason or another....check them out on my Spotify account. I shared February's list below. Baby I don't Mind by Sunni Colon has been on repeat.

5. Anais Nin writings and quotes have been speaking to me lately.

6. I'm planning my cutting garden for this year. David Austin English roses, with their dense, rich petals will be included into the plan.

love the look - style edit - Interior Design 2016

There are certain closet staples that you can't go wrong with, one of those is a white cotton shirt. I still love a clean cut, slightly oversized boyfriend style, like this perfect version from J.Crew..If you're looking for a bit more detail, there are so many "frilly" updated, sophisticated, edgy ruffled versions available too. You really can't go wrong with crisp white. Here's a round up....xx

Not your typical banquette..... - Interior Design 2016

I'm in the midst of designing a custom banquette for a client. I'd like it to feel different and function as a comfortable place to sit for dining and entertaining. I'm really excited to share more details of this project with you later this year. Eek.

Today, I've compiled unique dining banquettes.......

Shelter Loves...... - Interior Design 2016

I often use travel to gain design inspiration, clearly that has not been possible over the past ten months.. I do however, look to: nature, artists, films, textiles, fashion icons, history, past decades, famous furniture, interior designers both present + past, social media accounts, instagram, architecture and even music for inspiration! Here is what I'm currently loving. Visually escaping is always a treat during the long, grey Boston winter months. I've been pinning like crazy and feeling very inspired by and to create wonderful designs for my clients......Here's my Pinterest account, if you don't already follow along...

1. MLK, he had such an amazing spirit, his quotes still resonate loudly.....
2. Large statement earringspaired with simple tops.
3. Clean eating and easy meal prep.
4. Sika Design dresses are handmade in Ghana. I have my eye on a couple.
5. Floral prints and colorful painted trim. I love Peter Dunham's work.
6. Serena Dugan textiles. I am using a few on a current projects.
7. Iconic furniture designs by Karl Springer. I aways incorporate vintage lighting, textiles and furniture into my designs. They infuse interiors with depth and interest. I also love the concept of repurposing items.

Take me away - Ponza, Italy - Interior Design 2016

I have a mix of destinations in mind to visit when we are free to travel again. We all deserve a get away and the idea of a laid back, retro island sounds like perfection. I came across Ponza, Italy via a lovely article in Conde Nast.  I could devise an interior color palette with these gorgeous, moody hues... Here's a bit of Wednesday retro inspiration for you from the glorious island that falls under the radar......Photography by Stefano Scata

Positano is also on my radar...
