Wow, Have I really posted 40 amazing cottages on my blog?? I hope to share forty more!
It's my favorite time of year! There is a certain energy about the summer that feels "care free". Don't get me wrong, I still round around and work like crazy but weekends are all about lazy days on the beach and evenings are homework free and consist of causal cookouts with a little more rose!! ;)
I love Jenny Wolf's restrained, cohesive interiors..Here's a peek at her beautiful Hamptons home. Yes please on that pool!!

Shelter Loves - Interior Design 2016
Hello. I missed you all this week. Blogging is actually my little slice of peace each day. It's escapism at it's best and this week was coo coo. I love a Saturday with no plans and that is exactly what I am having. My kids are eating m + m's and watching cartoons but hey sometimes a Mommy needs a break and if that is what it takes, then so be it!!
Here is the latest and greatest:
1. These colorful tassel earrings would perfectly complete a simple outfit. I am not afraid of color, especially during the Summer months.
2. It's been a tough week all around. The news has been horrific. We are bombarded with differing opinions daily. I just can't surround myself with what I perceive to be negative ones. I like this sentiment and most of the Dali's thoughts.
3. School is out, so beach season has officially begun. Speaking of peace, I feel so calm by the ocean. ( I am on the hunt for the best cast cover for my daughter!!)
4. I never seem to tire of blue and white stripes or high gloss navy!!! I love the design of Reese's Draper James shop.
5. I will have a fun second beach car someday. This Bronco would do!!
6. How adorable is this tunic dress?? That and this watch are on my wish list!!
7. I spent about 16 hours pulling a design together for a nursery this week...how adorable is this one??? By Emily Henderson

In the kitch! - Interior Design 2016
I've been neck deep in fabulous design work with wonderful clients and to top it off my poor little Emerson fell off the monkey bars and broke her arm pretty badly. (right before swim season to boot). I'm staying positive and wanted to share this girly gorgeous kitchen with y'all. I've been eyeing pink all day while I scout furniture for an exciting project. (I'll be sharing more on this mid-July). And that stove?? Yes please! In my next home. Design By: Laurel Burleson Interiors. Photos: Alyssa Rosenheck

Current Obsession: Haptic Lab's Constellation Quilt - Interior Design 2016
I really, really love this Constellation Quilt from Haptic lab that I found over at Sparton Shop. It would be awesome as a quilt on the bed or as a wall hanging.
The 100% cotton 60" quilt features embroidered gold stars in the October night sky at around the 40th parallel in the Northern Hemisphere, Tiny French knots are used to render the Milky Way as a tactile field that crosses the quilt design in a sweeping diagonal.
The quilt is handmade in Brooklyn.

Old News:19th century designs for satins and silk - Interior Design 2016
I have titled this post old news as that is exacatlly what it is.... images of an exhibition that ended a year ago!
However, I have only just found these pictures over at Spitalfieldslife and thought they were so beautiful they deserved a share.
All the images (and more) and the text below can be found over at the website
"Rodney Archer, the Aesthete of Fournier St, & his pal Trevor Newton, the Curator, have been busy again, lining Rodney’s magnificent old house with a collection of original French nineteenth century designs for satins and silk velours, created at the Lyons factory of Antoine Donat between 1840 and 1865.
Trevor came upon these designs in a long-abandoned silk mill and they have not seen the light of day since the eighteen-seventies which accounts for their vibrant unfaded colours. Each design is labelled on the reverse with the date and instructions for setting up the loom, and all are for sale – many for as little as twenty pounds.
It certainly makes a splendid display in Rodney’s blue and gold drawing room on the first floor – the one with Oscar Wilde’s fireplace in it – and since these houses in Fournier St were built on the income from silk weaving, it is difficult to imagine a better location to enjoy these rich and extravagant designs, glowing in the February sunlight ."
