Cabin Fever.... - Interior Design 2016

As the days get shorter and the nights draw in I find myself finally feeling comfortable in my skin again. I am not a big hot weather person nor am I a fan of the summers revealing clothing (on me) and how exposed it makes me feel. So when Autumn arrives along with the chunky cardigans, boots and scarves I feel finally at peace. But I also find myself craving the smell, taste and sight of the forest, and around this time of year my Pinterest account gets full of the most beautiful A-frame houses. So whilst sat curled up in a blanket (and sipping a fine Single malt), I thought I would share a selection with you guys.

Hope you are enjoying the season, what ever it may be in your part of the world xx

The 'Third Eye Hat" from HoneyWood and Lone Hawk - Interior Design 2016

These stunning "third eye" hats are the result of a collaboration between Lone hawk hats and Honeywood vintage..... and I don't know about you but I just adore them!

I have never really been a confident hat wearer but my aim for this winter is to finally pluck up the courage to rock a hat ..... I may have found the perfect one to help me on my way. Each hat is a one off, having been handmade and hand embroidered by the talented duo.....

These beauties, plus many more stunning designs, are available online through both Lone Hawk hats and the fabulous Honeywood Vintage

Shelter Loves - Interior Design 2016

I know there wasn't a full moon this week but it certainly felt like it!! The week ended on a positive note and The Boston Red Sox are heading to the World Series! I'm not a sports fanatic but I do love a good playoff game and the Boston sports teams. Also, a HUGE thank you for all the birthday love on Monday!! Here's what grabbed me this week.

1. Croc embossed bags and unique shapes. I like to support women in business and shop small, Loeffler designs are usually swoon worthy with a classic twist.
2. This scalloped light for a little girl's room, it's actually affordable.
3. I am constantly trying to better myself. Remaining calm and non-reactive is a super power I am working to master.
4. Faux-fur "teddy bear" coats. My daughter is slightly obsessed with her stuffie collection. I think I know where she gets her love of fluffy things from!
5. Pretty details and the perfect sweater to wear around the holiday season.
6. I am drawn to homes with large, black steel window frames that beautifully meld the indoors and outdoors.

Love the look - sweater weather - Interior Design 2016

I'm not going to ruminate about the weather today but I will say this: sweater weather has arrived! (along with my heating bill) Every Fall, I usually go through my closet and donate my older worn looking sweaters. I like to own a mix of comfortable but flattering looks! Here's a round up of some great ones out there this season. #1, #3 and #5 are all on sale! #6 and this entire photoshoot with Tuckernuck is adorable. Cheers to you and a cozy Fall season.

A dreamy Brooklyn brownstone - Interior Design 2016

I am currently enthralled with two amazing kitchens that I have been creating. One, is at the tail end and other other, in the beginning stages. They are both going to be quite different but the aesthetics are equally gorgeous. I always love to come across an inspiring home that I have not seen in the print or digital world yet. Lifestyle blogger and entertainer, Athena Calderone's recently completed brownstone is in this month's Architectural Digest. The KITCHEN is pretty close to perfection and what I would design for myself if I were starting from scratch. (I am currently loving contrast and a mix of black and white) The home she shares with her husband and son, is equal parts chic and welcoming. Here is a peek at her brownstone and lovely blog, EyeSwoon. Enjoy, I hope your week is off to a great start! xx

Shelter Loves - Interior Design 2016

Happy Friday! I'll be celebrating my birthday this weekend! When I was younger, I would feel discouraged (which is insane, because looking back I was a baby!) about turning another year older. Clearly, age brings wisdom. I am now always thankful for another year of health, happiness and prosperity. There isn't much we can do to slow down father time. On a career note, I am wrapping up two projects and am in the beginning stages of a few more. I love how design constantly evolves, no two weeks are ever the same. Finally, my thoughts are with everyone impacted by hurricane Michael, it seems this storm snuck up on the Panhandle. Stay strong and safe. 💓Here is what has been on my mind....

1. I adore classic neutrals in the Fall: camel, cream tan and black all work for me.
2. I have been really into TED talks lately, I listen to them while driving to client appointments. I listened to Amy Cuddy's talk to today on how body language shapes who you are. Listen here. She summed up her talk, with this quote! It is a good one.
3. This is my favorite new favorite face product by Beautycounter.. I am kind of obsessed with having smooth, clear skin.
4. I know Brass counter tops are not all that practical, but they do look killer in Jenna Lyon's home.
5. This bralette looks ridiculously cute on, layer it under sweaters for a feminine look.
6. I wear glasses to drive, I am choosing a new pair this weekend and am going to give Warby Parker glasses a shot! I like the oversized tortoise style.
